Hello to anyone who has kindly come on to my page I welcome you with a whole heart and a warm embrace.

you already know by now what this blog is about by reading the main title. First of all this has not been or will be easy to write about. within the uk itself 1 in 4 people will experience a mental health problem (any time of mental illness) every year. these stats are crazy to think about, for example within a family of 4 one person could have this silent killer.

who i am and the reason i have created this page

now lets start by introducing myself. My name is Declan and I am 20 years young or 20 years old depending on how you see the glass.  I'm a crazy kid and always have been. from an early age I have always been bouncing off the walls with enough energy left over that my family could bottle it and sell it. however for a big part of my life i have always had something lurking in the background something that would linger and decide that it would make itself welcome and comfy within my mind. and that ladies and gentlemen is mental illness. mental illness has had a huge effect on me and my loved ones around me. I shall go into more detail about my story on my first blog. but the reason that i have brought myself to your screens is to give you an insight on my life and how serious mental health can have on teens my age or anyone for that matter. I want to create a platform that if people need something to relate to or feel like they are not alone. that feeling can be the most overwhelming feeling when fighting with your own mind. please maybe with this blog or with any certain way your feeling, if you feel like you need help always reach out. Thank you for coming to my page and i hope it will give you more understanding on specific mental illnesses and the way we fight through them.

much love Declan

OCD and me

welcome back to my powering through mental illness writing sessions, im glad that i am back and writing about something that is such a big part of my life right now even if its not the best thing to be feeling or going through, however the more we write about it and let it be known to the world, the less we feel so alone, and the more mental health becomes a more known modern day world problem.
